Somehow I lost (or failed to record) this class. Well I'll certainly be repeating myself next week. Anyhow, the main thing was to see how the very idea of history repeating itself, again and again, is a conservative idea. The management of human nature is therefore an art which belongs to monarchy: this would be Dryden's ground-floor position.
